The Townhouse Restaurant
/If you are anything like myself, you enjoy an old school spot with delicious food to makeup for their basic appearance. I believe that breakfast can be eaten at any time of the day, if the right place is serving it. This place is in Oviedo called "The Townhouse Restaurant" legit blows every Ihop and Denny's out of the water (no shade.) Been open since the early 1950's, they are super southern with a mix of Greek. The Townhouse restaurant serves out of a historic building in Oviedo, Florida some homemade classics to make you wanna keep going back.
Let us start off I enjoyed their homemade Arnold Palmer, which for those who do not know is just lemonade and iced tea mixed. As an appetizer I enjoyed their plumped and filling biscuits. Their warm biscuits are served with a homemade sausage gravy, you can drizzle on top of just about anything. The gravy is creamy and it gives the biscute a perfect balance to enjoy as you await your meal.
I took my little cousin Jon with me to enjoy this breakfast, at lunch time with me. He stood to the timing and grabbed a burger like sandwich. It was on buttery Texas toast, with caramelized onions and perfectly crisped fries.
As for myself I enjoyed a steak (medium well) with eggs, home fries, and a side of wheat toast. The steak was good enough that I did not even have to add any steak sauce to it. I picked sunny side up eggs, I enjoy the flow of the yolk on my potatoes and steak with a few bites. The home fries were nice and crispy on the top, and under were a perfect soft texture. The bread even had a smooth spread to them, I took a few bites too.
As for my favorite, the sweet part. We grabbed a peanut butter pie. I will be honest at first I was a little skeptical because I think peanut butter, and I automatically think very thick, and dry. But this was very far from the description for this scrumptious pie. It had a nice crust, the smoothest peanut butter filling, topped with chocolate pieces that were like cookie crumbs and topped off with a chocolate syrup finish, and a side of whip cream or cool whip (no sure, don't sue me.)
I hope you all enjoy this little country spot, I know I do the couple times I have ate here. If you go nice and early you will even see some live chickens running around outside, doesn't get anymore country than that. The staff is amicable and helpful in understanding the menu. Angelina was our waitress and she was a total doll, ask for her when you drop in. I only paid $30 for everything here.
