#SynRetreat2020 & Honor Circle

Find your room, meet the ladies, open up!

My amazing friend Carla from the Shit I’m 30 podcast had the perfect vision of putting together an all women’s wellness retreat; boy did she kill that. Not only did she execute this with over 10 women, but in the middle of an entire global pandemic. The power of the tongue and her work ethic were shinning this entire trip. To begin, I have been manifesting devine feminine energy being around me for months now. This place was dripping of it. Grateful I am. Our trip was from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. Carla chose a mansion in Davenport , FL that had more than enough room for us all. Everyone was able to have their own room and bathroom; hello 12 women, we most definitely needed our own space to get ready and get away when needed. We all had the cutest gift bags with amazing products for your skin, for some smoking (if you partake) and spiritual cleansing (palo santo.) Carla made it known that we all needed to be tested for Covid prior to coming on the trip. Upon arrival she took everyone’s temperature, we had about 75 thermometers because; better to have it than need it. It was so exciting seeing all the women coming in one by one, even two by two. It was getting more real by the minute. Upon arrival Carla gave us all a glass a wine. What better way to break the ice than with wine, snacks and games? We played a couple games to get to know each other a little; most of us never met until this space.

Yoga, brunch, boat, Taverna Opa

Even with sleeping over my alarm because I went to sleep at nearly 5am. Spending quality time with the girls that stood up late was totally worth it. I was still semi bright eyed and bushy tailed for the yoga and deep meditation session with everyone. I enjoyed the session so much; felt so nice to have a nice deep stretch, followed by a motivating guided meditation to set the mood for the day. We enjoyed a versatile breakfast with some mimosas and sweets for balance. We needed full bellies for the boat day that followed. Skye Blue Rentals took such great care of us! Big pontoon boat, a jet ski and down time at the sandbar to enjoy the water. Something about taking a good stroll around lakes and seeing huge fancy houses makes me manifest my future home to my liking. After we are all tanned, tipsy and soon ready for dinner; we head back home to wash up and get ready to head out. Carla picked the perfect place to eat and party. Being that there are so many restrictions on going out, it was so refreshing to find somewhere that I could eat lamb chops and shake my ass on a table… literally. This restaurant got everyone out of their cocoons (if anyone was still in theirs) and let us all just have a ball. Whether watching or dancing full blown, this place had us all hype! Of course when we get back home, majority of everyone was so pooped from our long day they took the sack. But of course myself and selected few stood up to keep the party going. Ultimately we were there to utilize our time by being up as much as possible. The ones who selected awesome nights rest, I wish I had one of those too (ya’ll win.)

Breakfast, Virtual Paint & Sip, Grill & Chill

A whole weekend of brunch is my type of event. Sunday Funday started with yet again a wonderful variety of food and mimosas. We had different juices to mix it with and fresh fruits to soak up the goodness. Heads up, public apology for almost taking Lisa out with blueberries I put in her mimosa (know peoples allergies.) Besides that it was smooth sailing. After our amazing meal, we set up for our virtual Paint and Sip by Hope illustrated. She guided us to making a beautiful sunflower with a butterfly to signify all the growth and new beginnings to come to us all. I loved how interactive we all were; drinking and making our painting, our way. We were feeling creative, full and relaxed. We enjoyed some down time, and played a couple of games. The games now were even more fun because at this point we were together all weekend, so we had a better sense of everyone so the jokes were flying and the laughs were louder. One of the funniest parts of the trip was the neglectfulness towards the shrimp we had to pick up for dinner. If you have already listened to the Shit I’m 30 Podcast episode with Carla, May and myself then you have a gist of what went on. Myself, KK and May were sent on a mission to Publix to get a couple of things for SHRIMP Alfredo; main ingredient is SHRIMP. We go to the supermarket, get items, go to the liquor store get a bottle. Then head back to the house, so proud of our timing and overall success of the trip to get dinner. Get back in, settle down and Carla is asking us one by one where the shrimp is at. One by one we take a long pause, look at Carla in disbelief as we mentally run through the aisles of Publix; we could not believe we forgot the DAMN MAIN INGREDIENT. Great thing is that we maintained the mentality of '“solutions, not problems” great words to live by even after the trip. Last night was lit, Carla was able to make her fire shrimp alfredo for us. I had a block party with a few party animals, listen to the Shit I’m 30 Podcast episode with May and myself to get more insight. Next day I was simultaneously exhausted and refreshed, we went to get some acai bowls before everyone went their separate ways.

Shit An Entire Two Year Hiatus

At this point do I even know how to blog anymore?

Welcome back to the ones that have been riding with me for all of these years. If you are new, welcome to my baby Wendolyn Mars. I started my brand as somewhere to teach people how to travel to pocket friendly places. From that stemmed some merchandise I felt was close to me and I wanted others to represent it too. From that I even dabbled in broadcasting for my college FAU.

Being a creative can be rewarding and overwhelming at times. When you make something come alive from your head to your audience it is an absolute euphoric feel. But when you get creative blocks in the mist of real life shit going on, it can become a bit discouraging and crippling to your craft. From a young age my favorite way to express myself to others was through writing. I know with so much going on in the audio world, blogging or forms of print seem to be lost. I do know that some of us out here (like myself) still thoroughly enjoy a sweet read. I have been meaning to get back into writing; and not to make it an excuse, but life will really shift shit around. I am ready, put me in coach !! With all of the shit going on in the world I have to be expressive and vulnerable. I want to be able to speak life into others, show my shortcomings and my elevations alike. A lot of times we only show the pretty side of things; we need to show the reality of how difficult life can be. But even in showing the ugly, I show my faith for my God and the things I am able to overcome is not to be fucked with.

What’s to come in the blogging life?

I want to come back into blogging speaking more on my personal life; my experiences, my fucking up, my leveling up, my ideas. I will still be adding places that are fun and sweet on the pockets. Mostly because I love to get people out of the house. But overall I want a place to express myself and give others a place to express themselves publicly or to me, privately. I also want to have an area where businesses can contact me for promotions on my website or my other social networks. I hope to drop something once a week. I am excited to get more into my creative juices. Currently I am working on pre-orders for a new shirt design; it highlights my pride for being a product for immigrants. I have been on a sweet health journey too. Eating less meat, more greens. Fasting once a month and really allowing my mind, body and soul to heal and strengthen me up for my long life. I am enjoying being more in tune with myself, hence the creative flow coming back to life. I love good criticism, please do not hesitate to give me feedback. Tell me where I lack, tell me what you’d like to see ! This post was short, but it was mostly to tell you all that I am back and excited to give you all content on this side ! New and old supporters, you are all appreciated galore xo

Love And Allow to be Loved

I love to end my blogs with this ! This has no specific meaning to it. It can mean anything to anyone and it would NOT be a wrong answer/description for it ! For me it means that when you love something (a craft, a location, a job, a human) when you allow it to love you back, you can only elevate. Only greatness can come from bringing together positive entities and wanting MORE!

Bahamas Paradise

Cruises are known to be a sweet way to get out of the country, have good food and save money. I found the Grand Celebration cruise also known as Bahamas Paradise! As most may know I began my blog to get folks into traveling while not killing their pockets in the same trips. I put myself out there as an example to others that traveling and coming back with money is attainable, if you plan efficiently. I hope you all enjoy my journey on this cruise to the beautiful island of the Bahamas.

The cruise in itself is a smaller cruise; it is used for short and efficient trips. The cruise sails out of Palm Beach Port at about 5:30pm, they advice to be on the boat before 4pm to be on the safe side. The earlier the better, you are able to just hangout on the ship. You take a day to sail there, spend a whole day on the island, and then you sail back the day after that. You are also able to stay on the island for a few days, and then return on a different ship to the states. As soon as you come to the port you are greeted by the valet smiles. They charge $19 per night in which they receive upon arrival. I had the concierge package ($249 tax included, for two) which I will speak more on below, but it is your BEST bet for this cruise. Only thing really in addition was I bought drink tickets, 10 drinks for about $84. Henny Coladas, Jameson, Patron. Great choices. Since I had the concierge package, I had express check in, skipped lines galore, my luggage was taken to my room priority and and who doesn't like to feel super VIP?

The check in was fairly smooth; since they take your bags early, if you have the concierge package. I just had to go up to the check in desk, which is also priority. Even if you do not get this package, the staff works the best they can to get you in fast and smooth. Best is to have your passport to check in, but original birth certificates are acceptable too. They will give you a card that pretty much is your lifeline for the trip; it's used for paying and getting on and off the boat. After you check in someone comes to pick you up and walks you to the ship. There you are to meet your concierge helper; mine was Felishia, she was amazing every single step of the way. You will be very familiar with her throughout the trip as she tells you all the great things that await you.

When I arrived to the room, luggage was already there. When I came in I had a sweet arrangement of fruits and prosecco. Can not ever go wrong with some sparkling wine. So included in the concierge package one of the first things to do is head over for a wine tasting. There is also breads, cheeses and nuts to snack on. Wines from all over the world are presented with detail as you enjoy relaxation. Real cool decanter on the wine bottles, there are specials on bottles of wine with the decanter they will list once the wine tasting is coming to an end. They also give you another getaway to get your drink on. There you are able to see the game boards you can rent while having some drinks, unlimited.

The whole cruise has so many activities to do. A casino, pools, restaurants, clubs, stores, spas, gym, water park for kids, coffee shops, karaoke and shows both nights. First night I ate at the regular restaurant even though with my package you can have dinner at the specialty restaurant both nights. I wanted a feel of both, the second night I got the extra fancy food. It's so awesome that you can eat as many plates as are able to fit in your belly. The portions and quality of the food are awesome. The staff is very accommodating to diets and allergies. Chefs are able to modify just about anything for each guest.

I went ahead and worked out while I was here, I loved the small view it had to the ocean, and how clean it was. The first morning I got about an hour workout in before heading over to my champagne breakfast. Yes you read correctly, I workout and indulge in mimosas, sue me. There you have a sweet option of different meats, eggs, sweets/pastries coffees and juices to mix your champagne. You have that for both mornings on the ship.

Day on the island was perfect, its smooth to exit the ship. Have to be sure to have your passport and key at hand to make the exit and entrance more smooth. When outside a lot of taxis are available to take you to the different areas and beaches available. $14 for a round trip to and from Taino Beach. The beach was such a crispy baby blue. The sand was so soft and light. All the different things to do on the beach were fairly priced. There are excursions you can buy prior to getting there. But you are also able to just pay them cash while there. Heads up always have cash when you get off, it is the most convenient for everyone. On the beach you can stay at the hotel for the day, ride banana boats and jet skis, go snorkeling, try different food and a lot of drinks available. My favorite was just being able to lay out on the beach, take a relaxing nap and swim in the water as my skin got more color and shinier.

Coming back on the boat I went for a tour of the captains domain. If was so informative to know what all goes on at the head of the whole ship. I do not think we realize how much goes into keeping everything organized and keeping all the passengers safe, and for that we have the great staff to thank. On the tour you get mocktales also known as fruity drinks with no alcohol and finger food. There is pretty much always pizza and pasta around. And the last day they had a huge BBQ with all types of burgers, hot dogs, fries, and salads galore. There was always entertainment. I went in for a 50 minute massage that also comes in my package. Joyfull was my therapist’s name and she was divine. I almost wanted to ask if she just wanted to come home with me to work in South Florida. Her hands were so rewarding, she focused on my problem spots and made me feel such at ease. Everyone from the spa is so sweet and helpful. There is a full salon in there too. They include hair, nails, feet, facials and massages. There is no such thing as too much pampering.

After my massage I got ready for dinner on the fancy side, after that there was another show that I did not see the second night, only the first because I was so tired and wanted to nap before the comedy show the second nght. Being that I had my package I had tickets to the show, and perfect seats too. The first show I went to was filled with different talent that were all extravagant. After all the shows, it is time to party. The first night I went to a club inside, it has sort of a bar, game room and club in one. It was different but I loved it. Met some cool ladies in there that wanted to dance and keep drinking just as much as I did. Following night I enjoyed the DJ blasting music until late night on the top deck of the boat. To feel the wind up there and all the different lights was awesome. So many people having such a great time, the energies rub off and magic happens on the dance floor. Because I am a diva I had high heels on both nights. I do not expect ya'll to follow. I say choose whatever you are comfortable in. Make sure to wear something that really shows off that fresh tan.

Next morning I was ready for my next champagne breakfast before heading out. You give your card information while checking in, so the checkout is smooth. They do give you a printout of everything and throughout your trip you are always able to go ahead and ask customer service where your balance is at. When you are ready to leave someone goes to get your luggage and escort you down to TSA; where because you are concierge you get to skip the whole entire long line. Once you are out, make sure to save your valet ticket or take a picture of it so they can bring your wheels back.

I want to thank the whole entire staff on the cruise. Even though they already charge gratuity for everyone there were a sweet batch I tipped more (optional) because of their extended hospitality. I am grateful to have had such an amazing, short and pocket friendly trip. I hope to take another trip soon with my mom back to the island and stay for a night at a hotel. Below I have pictures of my trip, along with links to book your trip and your concierge package. Make sure to tag me in your trips. Thank you all for supporting me, remember to always love and allow to be loved.

Blu Cantina

Atlanta is such a versatile city. I found a dope "Latin American Fusion" spot by the name of Blu Cantina, I feel everyone should visit them. From the outside of the restaurant you see the lively art on the building's walls. The vibe inside is mixed with a DJ booth, some space, a bar, and booths with a few tables inside and out. The food is great and they have a sweet variety and great prices. Music may make you change from a light bounce in your seat to a sweet stand up twerk... balance.

My go to drink at Blu Cantina every single time will be the Henessey Margarita. Now I know that Margarita is associated with tequila, but this cognac in there will give you a new outlook. Ask your server about a pitcher if you are 21.

I went to Blu Cantina a few times while in Atlanta this last trip. My official introduction was with Kirstie and we had a nice array of delicious finger food. We started off with the ultimate sampler. You can always mix up the options, but we chose some golden chicken empanadas with a light chipolte kick drizzled over top, the veggie filled southwest egg rolls and the queso to dip it all in.

Next were the flavorful variety in tacos that we had. We had a tender brisket taco, I had a fried fish taco with some nice hints of mango in it, a grilled shrimp taco that also has some great mango slaw, Kirstie had a surf and turf taco which has brisket and shrimp in it. All of these we ate with rice and beans. I also went back a couple other times, added wings, fries and other things I stated above. All of it was so filling and flavorful.

And of course I had a few churros after dinner because a meal is not complete if desert is not present.

MAKE SURE YA'LL FOLLOW THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO FIND OUT ALL THEIR NIGHTLY DEALS IG: @BluCantina_eav

I appreciate everyone that catered to me and my friends in Blu Cantina. My sister and favorite server Diamond works here and she is a gem to say the least. Everyone here from the boss Gally (G) to the cooks are all welcoming and on point. I can always appreciate black owned businesses flourishing. Hope this establishment continues to grow and kick ass everyday. As I finish typing this I wish I was able to down a Hennessy Margarita and a chicken empanada, just a quick pick me up snack is all. I hope you all enjoy this chilled restaurant lounge next time you're in the A. I am glad to be back in the writing wave, I appriciate ya'll continued support and patience. Remember to always Love and Allow to be Loved xo  Tell them Ms. Mars sent you!

Bossed up

I am all for entrepreneurs paving a way for each other. Empowering their brands in hopes of growth and prosperity. I especially assist my women in the field. We have to work double as hard for all that we do. So I commend Carolina for all that she does and continues to build. May you all enjoy and take from her accomplishments. Below I have an interview I had the pleasure to conduct with Carol herself.

What makes you an entrepreneur?

Since a kid, I've always watched my mother sell things like furniture, household items, and clothes? I saw my grandmother buy perfume at English town (Flea market in New Jersey) and sell it at the factory she worked in. I saw my aunt work her way from a factory, to being the real estate expert that she is today. At the age of 8-9 I was living in Dominican Republic and waking up early to cook the kids pancakes. They didn't have them and were willing to pay me for mine. (Being an entrepreneur) I think it's in my blood, that of wanting to pursue financial freedom by way of providing products and services to others that need or want it.

How did you begin your careers/businesses?

"I come from a family of strong, hard working, go getter type women. My aunt Carmen who was a single mom did not settle. She got into real estate 15 years ago and I followed. At 17 I became her assistant. Shortly after my mother went into the furniture business; which also happen to be the family business in Dominican Republic. After one too many winters my parents decided to move to Florida (from New Jersey) and I picked up where she left off. I launched Jr and Jada's furniture after my children. I relocated to Florida in the fall of 2006. I waited a few years to hop back into real estate, considering the market and taking my mothers advice. I pursued my license a few years after, and received my license for Florida. In 2015 I decided to bring back my furniture company this time as 'Posh Decor LLC. I figured let me sell you a house AND the furniture. I am also currently working launching a cleaning service, I want to do it ALL." SN: Carol just started up a T-shirt company with lost of catchy phrases and words to match moods. And she is on a very RAW Podcast. Link below.

What are some of your daily tasks you tackle?

Checking emails, texts, voicemails, and replaying to inquiries for either, people wanting rentals, wanting to buy, or others wanting more information on a piece of furniture. I also take time to post ADs on my other social medias and applications. I am learning to add more to my website. I also spend time researching what promotions the competition is having. I am also looking into ways to offer financing for my customers.

Do you have a team you rely on?

Does me, myself and I count. I'm Dominican, we have multiple personalities (lol)

How does it feel to be a Latina business owner?

              What obstacles have you overcame?

It makes me feel accomplished in a sense, but it also comes with responsibilities. Anyone can take a couple hundred bucks and LLC something and call themselves a business owner. And that's where obstacles come in. I want people to take me seriously. I want longevity and success. I want people to look at me and not see just a pretty face, or a fat booty. I want them to recognize me as a strong business woman. The same way I look at my grandmother, my aunt, my mom. I have a brain. I want my children to look at me and tell people, 'yep that's my mom.' I want to leave a legacy.

Do you have a title for yourself?

Hustler!

Are you someone who others can rely on

                        if they're on a budget?

Absolutely. My prices are very competitive; and you are buying quality furniture, which for me is the most important. I do not want my brand to be associated with anything that does not hold value. I pride myself in doing the best in anything I set out to do, and providing the best service I can, at the best prices. If something goes wrong, or you're not happy, please let me know so I can fix it, because my reputation means a lot to me. I offer layaway. I currently take cash, check debit and credit cards. Like I said I am in the mist of finding how to finance too.

                             What's next for Carol?

I am currently working on obtaining my broker's license, so be on the look out for that real estate office. I am wanting to go in the restaurant business with my long time friend Eddie Forbes, his food is amazing, but especially his jerk chicken it's my favorite.

                          How can others contact you?

I am on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linked in. All my other contact information is on my website. Send me a DM, leave a comment, @ me. Hit the contact button in Instagram and call, text or email me.

Any last words to the readers?

I want everyone to know that you can do anything you want to do in life. But whatever you do, just be patient about it. Just do it. Don't let people talk you out of your dream, it's yours for a reason. Don't be afraid. Fear stopped me many times. It;s something I face daily. But you have to fight for what you want. You only get what you bargain for. Things aren't given to you. I'm passionate about real estate. I'm passionate about furniture. I love seeing homes come together. I'm passionate about real estate. I'm passionate (too passionate) about food. I am passionate about my family. I want to see my people win. I am not a hater, and although I look bitchy, I'm here to help anyone I can.

Believe me I know I took an intense hiatus from writing. But it feels great to be back and even better because I am writing about this Queen Carol and her accomplishments. I am grateful to be able to expose her businesses to the public. I love that she is such a hard worker; she does not only rely on one form of income. She is getting it from all sides, and looking into new things always. I know her family is very proud of the greatness she is a part of. I look up to her and the work she has put in. I hope that you all use some of her services in the future. Below I have all of her information. Keep kicking ass Carol, keep leading by example and adding value to your many brands. I look forward to working with you more in the future and empowering each other every chance we get. Remember to always "Love and allow to be loved.

Silent Creepers

Suicide Prevention line 1 800-273-8255
Suicide Prevention Text 741-741
YOU ARE NOT ALONE xoxo

Why is it that in our communities we turn a cheek to mental illnesses? We allow things like our peers or our religions to dictate what's the right thing to do. Not having the proper knowledge on these things lead to other things like substance abuse and suicide. Let us bring awareness to these silent creeping killers that we must contain!

Some of the most common mental illnesses are depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). These are just to name a few that are hidden around us. Now granted a lot of people can handle a little in traffic anxiety. But when a mental illness is affecting your life, and the people in it, then it is time to look for some solutions. I found this awesome website that goes in depth on some mental health conditions and how to seek assistance for them. https://www.nami.org/Learn-More/Mental-Health-Conditions

Growing up one of my favorite aunts came to live with us for a while. She was bi-polar, I didn't even know she took medication until she wasn't. Seeing her off medication showed me firsthand why she needed to be on them. Being someone who doesn't believe in the pharmaceutical companies too hard; I can still appreciate the help of the pharmaceuticals that assist a lot of people with mental disorders. I am a firm believer of alternatives and moderation. In the sense being, the less pills you have to take the better. I am not a doctor, and everyone is different. Find what works best for you. First thing is first, admitting there is an issue, getting help then see how you are able to level things out to your liking. Not everyone needs a bunch of pills, some just need a therapist, or to just remove some toxic people from their lives; maybe pick up some breathing techniques and a hobby. If something like actual medication is needed, make sure you are not abusing them. The goal is finding the issue and fixing it to have more control of your life.

Not shining light on these type of issues leads many people into substance abuse. Drugs are not hard to find, if you have money it's like those suckers just appear where wanted. Mix of alcohol, drugs, even your own pills to control your mental illnesses fall in the enemy category. I've seen someone in and out of withdraw from pain killers, it is so bad but not impossible to stop. I know that most people need professional help to knock the monkey all the way off the back (kick the habit). Some people get a sense of power from abusing these substances; it's like dodging a bullet. Others don't even realize how deep in they are until they're there. You have to tap into your head and ask yourself if you want out of that lifestyle; if you do then seeking help is next. These are some reasons why we need to speak on mental conditions. It's easy to grab a bottle of liquor or pop a pill, be numb to things. What you don't realize is how much more you'd have without the extra parties present. Find balance and less amicable behavior for things that do you harm.

Life is extremely hard, shit does not always go as planned, and it always gets tougher before it gets smoother. That does not mean you are better off lifeless. You are beautiful, loved and needed. You truly do not know the impact you have on someone's life everyday. You will hurt someone that loves you so much if you leave them here without you. Confession time, I've been in the dark place of wanting to leave this life. It was the lowest and darkest time of my life; I thank God all the time for snatching me up from that. Suicide does not have a face to it, it is not always openly depressed or verbal about death even. Sometimes it is the person who is always happy and there for others, mental illnesses do not prey on specific groups of people either. We have to find ways to speak on this more to help save lives. 1800-273-8255 or text 741-741

We have to always check on our loved ones. We have to especially check on family and friends juggling mental illnesses. The mind is very powerful, some of us just need an extra hand controlling everything upstairs. Make sure you are truly loving yourself and always working on bettering yourself mentally and physically. Surround yourself with people that radiate love and hard work all the time. Let us bring more awareness to the silent creepers; let us control mental illnesses while ending substance abuse and suicide. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved.

Long Live Pistol Pete

Behind every sweet smile, there is a bitter sadness that no one can see and feel. – Tupac Shakur

This post is dedicated to my late friend/brother Peter Aguirre aka Pedro Navaja aka Pistol Pete aka Tupac's long lost Latino brother; may your soul rest peacefully in a better place pa, I love you. To his immediate family and friends my condolences to you too; he was extremely loved.

I knew Peter since my teen years, about 15. We met in East Orlando where we had majority of our adventures. We saw each other grow, rise up from bad shit and live for the good shit. He had a tattoo that read "Bout That Life" and boy was it spot on. Peter was the person to call for any last minute shenanigans. He was the person to ride with you on a road trip, perfect copilot type.

Anyone who knew Pete knew he was about money, Pac, intellectual conversations and helping people he loved. I miss his little stutter he'd have the more passionate he'd get about a topic. I miss hugging his slim body before and after we met up. I miss all the late night talks about the universe, our messed up government and how to finesse it, all with our natural medicine around. I even miss the excessive teeth sucking when he didn't agree with me about something.

As Peter's mom said, we have to celebrate his life. I want to celebrate his mind, so deep, so woke so willing to teach. He was meant to write a book someday. I will continue to do my research and know my rights as an Afro-Latina in this country. He left me with so much strength and knowledge to get things done. I thank you Peter for being so incredibly real, loving and supportive. May we all remember him for his heart and his mind; we must let him rest now.

Thank you to my awesome supporters who have reached out to me. Down below is a link if anyone would like to donate to Peter's funeral expenses, anything helps. Also if anyone wants to pay their respects Peter Aguirre (Pedro Antonio) will be laid to rest on August 30, 2017 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Homes. 1413 S. Semoran Blvd. Orlando, FL.

Viewing times from 6:00-9:00pm

His mother has requested that we do not dress in mourning as this is a celebration of Peters life. If you would like you could wear red in honor of Peter.

Craft Food & Beer

When in Miami I feel it right to try a new eatery, my usual mom and pop style spots. I was in town visiting my good friend Caddy. She moved to a new place, and lunch was in order to get some energy back in us. We found a very new, and evolving place worth sharing with ya'll named Craft Food & Beer.

Craft Food & Beer is a new born to the city of Miami, going on 3 months to be exact, but a very healthy and advanced baby nonetheless. As soon as you come into the small, bright, and homey place you know you will enjoy what's to come. We were greeted by an awesome young man named Alex (@Puertomalo). He was very amicable when we walked up and even helped us to narrow down our meal. Craft Food & Beer has 15 different craft beers and it will continue to grow. Every week there are different specials to ease up more on the pockets. The day that I went they had $7 burgers, and $3 beers available.

Caddy chose a classic cheese burger; fluffy bun, juicy meat and fresh veggies with a side of regular fries. The picture below shows how awesome it really was. Me on the other hand went with a wrap. I had chicken tender, lettuce tomato, avocado, and their in house, homemade honey mustard all in a spinach wrap; I had a side of sweet potato fries with it. The honey mustard is a must, its almost like a nice dressing, not like that extra thick unhealthy feel.

They offer many different burgers sandwiches, wraps, salads and soups. They have breakfast available all day. There is no wrong time to eat a breakfast meal. They also serve smoothies and freshly squeezed juices. Natural shots like wheatgrass, ginger and mixes and available. They also have third party delivery services like Grub Hub, Delivery Dudes and Bite Squad; use code "TRY US" at bitesquad.com for up to $10 off of your service.

Hope you guys get to show some love to this new place in the Miami community. Let them know Ms. Mars or Wendolyn sent you. Thank you to the great owner Mr. Will, he himself came from the grill to greet me. Sending you and your awesome growing business prosperity Will. Can't wait to pop back in the next time I'm in the city. Thank you my beautiful supporters for still riding with me and my stops I make in life. I am currently in Houston and choosing a few places to tell you guys about in the coming weeks. Hope you guys enjoyed this entry, feel free to leave a comment and send pictures of the stops you've made. Remember to always love and allow to be loved.

Paint Nite Experience

Being a natural born creative, I love anything that let's me express myself in an art form. Before leaving Orlando for South Florida, my best friends Linda and Buse set us up for a Paint Nite event. It was a full experience, food, drinks and master pieces.

Depending where you choose to do your painting, there will be food and drinks there for purchase. I totally condone a little pre-gaming though, just to save a few extra bucks. Or check out the place beforehand; go earlier and clash with their happy hour. Either way you should feel a nice buzz on or better after your work of art is complete. I grabbed a quesadilla and a few beers, I chose not to get drunk and paint, honestly because I didn't want to jeopardize my painting.

As soon as you walk in, there are white canvases everywhere. They were lined up neatly on the tables, right above the plate with the different colors we needed and the few brushes we'd be using too. We put our aprons on, to set the mood of course, and it began. Our painting instructor was the sweetest, she encouraged us throughout it all. I love how we all painted the same type of picture, just with our own twist. We cracked jokes, we had a great time, and we took with us something that should last forever.

This great event can be found at PaintNite.com you put your location and find your choice of painting and level of difficulty, or easiness depending on who you ask. If you have a Groupon account, you can usually grab it on there, type Paint Nite into the search bar. If you already used yours up then use my code to get 35% off of your purchase on the actual website --VIPORLANDO. Put it into the promo code section at checkout.

I want to take the time to honestly apologize with my inconsistency I've had with my cyber baby. I've been all over the place with this move. I have a summer course I am taking, as well as a new job, trying to stay fit in between too. Trying to get more hours in at my job, so give more TLC to my own business. These aren't excuses, just being honest about how I am going about to be more organized. Bare with me ya'll, we've got this. I appreciate the constant support I receive from ya'll. Hope you guys drop comments below on what you thought of this entry, and what you'd like to see in here. Pictures below show our beautiful paintings. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved.

Happy Lou Smoke Shop

Fresh to the area, I have been trying to make my way around mom and pop establishments. While in Pompano Beach, I so happen to come across a new smoke shop called Happy Lou's

I loved the hospitality as soon as we arrived, Lou greeted us himself. He was knowledgeable about all his products and even let us see some outside the case. It is a family owned business that's been opened about 6 months now. I have faith that their business will only grow if they continue to give it TLC (tender love and care).

It is very close to the beach, walking distance actually. They have a good variety of glass work, hookahs, pipes, filters, incense, cigars, papers, vapes, cleaners. It is a little for everyone. Even if you are trying to quit smoking, they have oils for vapes in all flavors to help you ease off those killer ciggs. But for my folks that aren't going to stop smoking anytime soon; Lou also offers a relaxed back area to enjoy a sweet cigar, purchased on location for your convenience. They have snacks and drinks on location too... in case you get tobacco munchies of course. Everything is priced very fair. I grabbed 10 incense for only $2 and the holder for $7. Under $10 and my rooms smell a different scent every couple of days.

With my purchase, a review and a follow I was given a FREE GIFT!! Ya'll know I find free and inexpensive things for you guys. Make a purchase, support a local business, and get something free from it. Not only that, they are more likely to remember you, and treat you like family. Big shops don't usually care who you are, they just care for your money. At Happy Lou's small talk is made, questions are asked, and see you laters are meant. Down below are all the goodies I got from Happy Lou's.

I truly hope ya'll can make it out to this smoke shop. I have some friends in town this week that I may take to enjoy some goodies too. Happy smokers on a budget? #HappyLous is the place to go for all your needs. Make sure you let him know #MsMars sent you too. May you all continue to be great and positive in everything that you do. Remember to always love and allow to be loved. xoxo

New Degree, Now What?

One college degree down; I am now part of the Valencia alumni. Wild journey this one, what felt like forever finally met a finish line. Degree in hand, what fresh journey follows?

I am pursing my second degree in Boca Raton in just couple of weeks. I am taking a summer course, and three classes for fall semester thus far. I am attempting to be as in and out for this degree as possible. I am in a communications program; I am debating if I will have a minor in theater by the time I graduate too.

I will be moving to Boca in a week. I have only moved out of my house once before, and that was with the person I was in a relationship with. Something new for me is living with someone who I've never had any ties to. I always said I would never live with other people; don't spit up, it will always fall back on your face. I will be moving with a yogi, figured we'd get along just fine. Two chilled people just wanting to relax when home, and have rent paid on time. I am excited to learn someone new, and learn a little on her culture while I show her mine.

I'd be a straight liar if I said I was not terrified making this move. I don't have friends or family in this city, I am still looking for a part time job for extra income, and school itself is a roller coaster. I am looking to change my car before coming for longevity reasons, this must also be done by this weekend. Needless to say I am still running around like a headless chicken. But just know I am ready for this adventure, and I will keep my eye on the prize.

I am looking into some marketing/advertising firms to sort of shadow. I am also looking for some side nanny gigs. Kids love me, and I love kids; might as well capitalize off of it. Working with kids only shows strength and patience. I will be traveling around south Florida to meet other business owners and feed my cyber baby quality.

Leaving ya'll with much love and gratitude. I know I was away a bit; please understand I was getting myself right, so I can be better for ya'll. I am excited to see what fun content South Florida has to offer. Somewhere so expensive like Boca Raton I am ready to find all the free and inexpensive hidden gems. I am also working on new merchandise, be patient. I am very picky and fund everything myself. I can easily get a loan and push everything, but I prefer to work my ass off and let the product show. If ya'll have any advice, or recommendations please do not hesitate to shoot them this way. Thank you all for loving all my shenanigans and growing with me. God and hard work got me where I am, and will lead me where I am destined to be. I hope we are all spreading love, and living life. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved.

T-Coon in Lafayette, LA

Why did I take so long to take this entry out? Questions that need answers. Back in February I went to Houston for Bebe's birthday and to visit our family. Since we drove there, on the way back I needed to grab some beignets. I had never been to Louisiana, so I wanted some southern cooking and some pastries to go with it.

Found this dope family owned business while driving around a bit. They have been around for 4 generations and counting. As soon as you go in T-Coon, owner himself has the loudest hello to welcome you. Our beautiful and glowing waitress Melissa was nothing short of awesome. She was so attentive, alert and helpful, with her perfectly round belly she took care of everyone gracefully. We did things just a little backwards I'd say; I wanted sweets, then food. So beignets and some coffee were first on the list. Down below you see some of these perfectly powdered beauties. I was excited to still feel how warm they were; the first bite was a bit messy but very worth it.

We set a couple aside and ordered some real food. Funny pork story at the end of this by the way. I don't eat it, pork that is. So Melissa did me the favor of accommodating my poultry needs. All the food is fresh and seasoned great. I had a biscuit sandwich with egg, cheese and a chicken patty (REAL chicken) fried. Had potatoes that were grilled and seasoned, they had a nice baby kick to them too. Bebe enjoyed a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich. I had ordered us a side of gravy, it was absolutely amazing. Come to find out, it had PORK in it. I was so ashamed in myself on how great it tasted... totally kidding. I was fine with accidentally enjoying it, and then going back to not eating it. We spent under $20 here, and they always have lunch specials available.

This stop has a total mom and pops... you're at your aunty house, ambiance to it. Wherever you sit, there is a piece of T-Coon and family around. Very southern and homegrown restaurant. There are lots of vintage pieces that you can check out while there. Can't wait to visit them again when in the city. Have some of their flavorful seasoning that you can buy on location, highly suggest it. I put those spices on a little bit of everything, perfect for all types of foods. Thank you to T-Coon, Melissa and Lafayette for the great hospitality. Remember to always love and allow to be loved xo.

Free Up Close and Personal With The Sea Lions

This stop was one of my favorites on my California trip. I had been a few times before to California, but never really felt like I was one with the hidden gems the West coast has to offer. Want to thank my Orlando brother Phillip for putting us onto another A1 spot. Check below what fun there is to do, and where to go.

The drive to the location alone is too cool. Pictures really do not do this place much justice. They have a diversity of beach fun, rock adventures to the sea lions and even a grassy field to relax and lay out.

You are able to take the kiddies to jump in the water, or put some goggles on for an underwater adventure (wet suit not included). Make an adventure out of hopping from rock to rock, seeing how close you're able to get to the sea lions. Or you don't even need to touch the sand; there is a field of grass with trees spread out for some shady comfort. Had Maria even climb one for fun as ya'll see below. I appreciated the space and trip so much. Being such a paradox, it was my favorite to be around such a huge body of water AND mountains in one. God is beautiful, and mother nature is always showing out.

Being from Orlando, the closest you're able to really be to these beautiful animals are via Sea World or Zoo. So it was nice to see them be in their natural habitat and not behind a glass window. Not to mention that even though you're able to touch them and all in Sea World you also have to drop big bucks to do so. So being that this is an inexpensive blog, I figured I'd show ya'll how to see this gem, in California's "gem' La Jolla. So down below I have the location. Also check out the pictures below, tell me how ya'll like this place. Show me your own pictures if possible. All feedback from ya'll, my awesome supporters are always welcomed. Thank you for continuing to show me so much love on all my social media platforms. I will be graduating in just a couple of weeks, I can not wait to show my blog some extra TLC. New merchandise for #MarsMadness is also on the way. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. God and hard work Xoxo

Hollywood Sign Shortcut

You must make a trip to the Hollywood sign if ever in Los Angeles. Yes it is cliche as f*ck, which I tend to stay away from, but it was so worth it.

I am a firm believer that you have to see and speak things into existence. I eventually want to have a beautiful home like the ones I saw in the hills, if not better. The drive up to the location is a sweet trip of turns into nicer, bigger and higher homes. I am an East Orlando raised young woman; I am just hungry for more, this trip only fed my hunger a little bit. I need more, I want more, I deserve more; as should you.

My friend from Orlando, Phil was our perfect guide. He's now a San Diego resident and I could not be happier for him. He knew where to take us to find the shortcut to the Hollywood sign. I am all for a great workout, but I was not too big on a huge hike that day. Not to mention I was a little pressed on time for my interview with podcast Across the Boards on Soundcloud hosted by Prince Hakim.

The drive up top was beautiful, once we parked we took a couple of flicks. It is FREE to park and be in this area. We walked around the corner and snapped a few cute shots (down below). You have to follow the road to the Hollywood sign, literally. Once you go through the houses, you will find a red brick mailbox, there make a left. You will see a small walk way, following that you will be right under the sign.

I loved this place, it was such a huge open area. They have a piece with a kids park, and a sweet dog park for your 4 pawed members too. For locals this place is just a spot to come and get some fresh air, maybe a picnic. As for the visitors this is obviously the perfect photo op. We all know how much you need to show others you were in Hollywood via social media lol.

Hope ya'll get to enjoy this dope view of the oh so famous Hollywood sign. More than that, I hope it motivates some of ya'll to dream and do bigger! I had too much fun while in California, I am so excited to go back. But until then, blog entries of the places I went to will have to do. Thank you all for the continued support. I really still get super shocked to know how many of ya'll really enjoy what I do. To me it is not work, I enjoy to give ya'll content and now merchandise. Thank you ALL for continuing to motivate me to stay consistent. Remember to always love and allow to be loved. Xo

Hollywood Tacos

This is the beginning of my California trip; first stop was some awesome tacos in Hollywood.

If you read my last entry, you may know how wild of journey it was to get to California. Needless to say when I landed in LAX all I wanted was food. Ended up at my friend Chris' school studio. It was hugs and death stares for a bit until we got fast feet to a taco place.

This taco establishment is fairly new, with potential. I am all for an authentic Mexican taco any day of the week. First off, coming to the window was a breeze, Henry was at the front to greet us. Henry was very patient and attentive towards us, thank you again Henry for the great hospitality. We grabbed a burrito, some steak and chicken tacos. They had a nice flavor, steak tasted perfect with their mild sauce especially. These prices were great; tacos for $1.50, highest item would be about $5.99 on the menu. I am all for saving money. I was a bad girl and even indulged in a Mexican bottle of coke. I may not drink a lot of soda; but I do enjoy a cold bottle from time to time, for obvious flavorful reasons. Once the meal was done via my friends and myself. This is a great place for a quick bite to eat to enjoy the nice weather California has to offer.

I truly enjoy how in Hollywood you can be eating an authentic taco right around with a homeless person, and a multi million dollar producer or director. To me that screams diversity and I am all for it. I want to again thank everyone at this growing business I wish Tim the lovely owner much success.

Be on the lookout for more Cali adventures coming up. Make sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter @W3ndy1321 as well as Facebook Wendolyn Mars. Thank you all for the ongoing support. #MarsMadness is doing great; I am brewing up some unique designs for you all to wear. Denver Layover Shenanigans

If you tend to follow me on social media, then you know a bit of the commute I had to encounter to get to California this trip. One of my greatest trips to day, motivated me to get more things done.

Just want to give a simple overview, just because I am so over having to explain the wild situation. So I was due to fly out Tuesday night (14th) to San Diego, my airline cancelled it and proceed to tell me I will not be able to fly into San Diego until Saturday (18th, I fly back home 20th). That clearly was not an option for me, I had meetings to attend and people to collaborate with. Anyway, I then ask them how fast can they just get me to California, I'll figure the rest out. They end up giving me the option of traveling from 230pm Wednesday 15th, until 11am Thursday (16th) . Even though it was not in the planner, it was a trip that needed to be taken.

Have my ticket; fly into Cincinnati, from Cincinnati to Denver. In Denver I have about a 12 hour layover. Now you all know I am a total traveler; no way in hell I could fathom being in another city for over 10 hours and not explore. So I did just that; talked a bit with Rodney, a first time flyer I met on my flight. We were exchanging ideas and views before we went our separate ways and I made it to a lyft.

My Lyft takes me to a cool place called Urban Sombrero; there I am just ready for food and a drink. Right when I arrive I am greeted by a lovely young lady who lets me know where to sit. Next comes my sweet and fast waitress Jade; she was great. She even offered me a stronger drink after hearing the travel mission that needed to happen. They brought me chips and salsa to start me off, complimentary. Then I ordered something light, fries with carne asada (steak strips) as toppings. Best way to explain this great snack would be nacho fries, without the chips. They had black beans and corn added, a little color with veggies and cheese and even added the sour cream right up top. This would be a great start to your meal, they have a nice variety of appetizers and meals. This is their only location; I loved that the bosses were at the location casually blending in with their customers. My meal was under $20. This is a place you can comfortably come with $15-$20 and leave full and tipsy for sure. They have lots of happy hour options too, always have a section for the budget Bob's and Bettys.

I hope that ya'll pop in on them when in Denver. I am a sucker for good, affordable food with great service. Also hope ya'll learn from my long travel scenario. It's all about what you make of it. The easiest thing for me to do was stay in that airport a mope about something I had no control over. Instead I worked towrds something I had control over, leaving the airport, talking to people, networking and taking naps. God is good, and I will continue to work for him and my future success. Remember to always love and allow to be loved. Xo

H-Town, It's Goin' Down

First time in Texas, of course a road trip was in order. Taking a car sometimes saves you more money, than grabbing a plane ticket; especially if the trip is planned in little time. Hope ya'll enjoy a few fun Houston spots. Contact me if you have any extra questions.

My cousin Bebe's birthday came around, so we decided driving up to Houston would be inexpensive and a blast; boy was she right about this one... Kinda. To start off she has a kick ass, eco friendly car. So it was literally under $100 there, and under $100 back in gas. That is already less than a round trip ticket for ONE of us. So I will be honest, the drive was total sh**! Damn near 15 hours of pitch black curves, swaying truck drivers and back cramps. Now, I may just be acting like a total cry baby about it; others may love this. I will say though, this is the BEST way to go to save money.

We decided to stay with family a couple of nights for peace and modesty. Then the very exquisite Magnolia Hotel for a few long nights, and early mornings. This hotel was decked out; it was a total mom and pops luxury package. The staff was the sweetest, they were all so helpful with everything. I loved how they didn't limit themselves to their property when guiding us. They worked so quickly, professionally and all with a bright smile on their faces. I love to stay on a property where every level of staffing has great energy towards you. Want to give personal shout outs to some of Magnolia's staff; to Chantay H. because she gave me great service as soon as I called, very detailed and hands on. Reginald S. was on the night shift and acknowledged us every time we were around with a smile. I don't have much of a favorite anything, but Iris, was just super kick a**, she referred to me as Ms. Mars, offered things before we even asked, her multitasking skills blew me away. Even Carlos out front with his contagious smile, and helpful services. Thank you all for the great treatment to myself and my guests. We were placed on the 21st floor of the hotel, overlooking beautiful Downtown Houston. The city is so beautiful, the locals are so friendly and catering. We enjoyed all the amnesties at the Magnolia hotel. They had free WiFi and snacks, happy hour, room service, gym, roof top pool and more. We even had a mini photoshoot on the roof, great view. They do have $30/day parking; we just parked at a meter right across and paid $7 for the whole day though (budget life). I got a great workout in while at the Magnolia, their equipment was all new and advanced; they have a fruit, water, and towel section for guests. I want to extend my gratitude to them 20 times more. Ms. Mars will be at the Magnolia hotel next time in Houston hands down!!

Tried to grab my Caribbean roots in a meal while out in Houston. Cool Runnings, mi soon come back man. I grabbed a very classic plate; rice and peas, oxtails, cabbage and sweet plantains large plate ran about $14. All the food tasted fresh, the meat was nice and tender too. Grabbed a beef and chicken patty for the road that Marie made sure was fresh. Marie put Bebe onto their rum punch for happy hour. Two of those bad boys and you will have to dutty wine once or twice. They are always offering lunch specials under $10. These plates are big enough to eat some, and take some too. They have the cool food truck in the front that stops in different places, they offer catering for affordable prices. Met some gentlemen at the barber college next door, I am all for people bettering themselves.

The laid back, drink specials, dance all night vibe place is The Flat for sure. The Flat has themed nights whenever they're open. I love the variety in music that they offer. Any place that plays the Goonies on the wall while Madonna is playing on the table is A1 in my book. As soon as you walk up to the door the security greets you extra friendly with a kick ass studded vest. You make your way inside and already see people dancing like an OG club. I am a total dancer, so I received the perfect energy when I saw everyone in groups feeling the beat. They always have drink specials, in which case budgets are attainable for a good night out at this place. I went on a Monday night which is Maniac Monday's where Dj Fredstar kills his sets with 80's music. Dj took me in a total time machine dancing daze, must hear if you're into the type of music to get it. Maybe you're more into smooth jams, like jazz. In which case head out for Tuesdays Jazz Jam this includes live music too. Wednesday's are made for my island lovers for reggae night, Thursday's are for on calls, these days are announced as they get closer. Friday's are for for house music lovers, edm, and electronic. Drink specials are too long to list, not too many bars can say the same.

This post is dedicated out to my cousin Sharlene, her fiancé Freddy and my perfect God kids Arri and JJ!! Houston trip was made for them and Bebe's birthday, I am just blessed enough to have family that know work must be done in between the fun. Thank you to all my supporters; I appreciate the ongoing support in everything. Soon Mars Madness will have pre orders so that you all are able to have a piece of me, wherever you go. Next stop is San Diego and Los Angeles. Be on the lookout for more posts near you. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved.

Mars Madness

As you all been seeing, I am coming out with my Mars Madness line in March.

Mars Madness is my cyber child's new sibling, if you need a breakdown here it is! I have been working on my cyber child aka my blog for almost 2 years now. I have always loved to write and loved to travel even more. The reason for the start of Wendolyn Mars was for people on a budget, or just people who like to save and still have a kick ass time. I got so over my friends saying "I don't have money" or "I don't want to go alone." So I became ya'll guinea pig, I went to places that were free or cheap ALONE! I left the country, alone and on a budget and had a BLAST! Granted as the blog has grown, I've tried to find ways to incorporate friends and family into my outings for balance. Along with it came my quote "Love and allow to be loved." This quote means endless things, there is no wrong answer on the meaning. My quote goes for anything, so life, lovers, family, careers, health etc. If you love something with great passion and allow it to show you love in return, nothing but greatness will come from it.

In between this all I went through a shit break up, lost a great job, met lots of dope people, and traveled all around. I am grateful for all the great opportunities my cyber child has brought me, and I am ready to give her a baby brother!!

Mars Madness is my new child! Just like any parent you love all your kids, but this new one just gives extra flutters in my heart from the newness. I have linked up with @IntronaWear to expand my name to merchandise with some FIRE. I have been working on this project very hard; I really don't even want to say much, I prefer for the visuals to speak up.

Down below are the two types of hats I will be releasing next month!! Both styles will be available in both colors. Be on the lookout for pre orders coming VERY soon. Valentine's On a Budget

Love is beautiful and it is everywhere. You do not need $1000 gifts to express your gratitude and love to someone. I will give you guys a few simple Valentines ideas to keep your lover smiling.

1. The classic home cooked meal. Any real couple knows how horrible it is to eat anywhere the actual 14th. So instead buy your lovers favorites and cook it with enough time for you to get done up and sexy for them. Set the mood in your domain. This can be done with actual hot food, or just some sweets and champagne.

2. House Call Massages. My sister Bebe gives the most AMAZING massages. She is a certified massage therapist who is willing to turn your living room into a spa. Do not miss out on her awesome Valentines sale, feel rejuvenated, loved and all for a low price. Make sure to tell her #WendolynMars sent you for a discount. Regular $80, saying my name leaves it at $55 Contact her via Instagram or email. @Bebe_0220 Bianniristejada@gmail.com

3. Salon save $10 services 40+. At Bella Salon and Barbershop now, until 2/18/17 any services $40+ get an automatic $10 off. 4. Picnic/Night beach trip. Pack up some snacks, a blanket and a little music to set the mood. Head out to Lake Eola and pick a shaded area in the grass to hang out. Another favorite and underrated, is a night beach trip. Watch all the beautiful stars with some slow jams; it will surly be an inexpensive and memorable time.

Hope this entry helped you all. And remember Valentines is for love, not only lovers. Show love to your family, friends and coworkers. Make sure we are all passing along a smile and some nice words. People are battling different battles daily, you could be the light they needed. Please let me know if you need help with any of the selections up top. Hope you all have a great time. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved.

Seize The Night To Light Your Darkness; Insider

Motivation is a beautiful and priceless thing to come about! My great friend Carlton Myrie aka CJ wrote this awakening gem of a read. He puts in perspective what we are doing wrong in our communities. He gives us a guide on ways to succeed and not be a typical statistic. I am so proud of him and his accomplishments. I know for a fact you all will take knowledge, encouragement and power from this book!

So let me give a slight overview of the read for you beautiful people . I want to keep it simple for you all, so that I won't be blamed for spilling it all. First off, this is the book for everyone. He purposely made it a book under 100 pages so that it is attainable for people to start and finish it all. This book is for people who hate to read, but very much want to succeed. Anyone can finish this read in about an hour, if not less straight through. Being totally honest, this is not your average sophisticated ass Robert Greene book, it is SO much better! CJ made it a priority to relate to our Urban community. You are into this book from beginning to end, simply because of the rawness inside of his messages. Using a little slang, lots wisdom, and guides this is a book I need everyone to have. At times we get discouraged with our dreams, or we become too content with life; we feel as if more is not necessary. CJ will give you the steps you need to learn to prioritize, sacrifice and succeed. This book was made for our youth and our OG's alike. I love the fact that so many of us can relate. This is a read that you want to share with everyone around. I need people to read this book, because I believe we all have that chip to be great. Are you ready to activate your chip yet?

All the chapters stick out to me, but here are a couple of my favorites. Chapter 7 "If you can't build with em', stop chilling with em". I enjoyed this one because it was a reminder to me, that I am allowed to distance myself from lifelong friends that are not doing anything productive. Hangouts are fine, but we have not reached our glory of success, no reason there should be more play than work. Next one is Chapter 13 Blood, Sweat and Years. This chapter instills in your head the importance of time, and dedication. Favorite thing he said in this chapter (being a work in progress on patience) was "Love, happiness and success comes with planning and patience." You have to able to work harder and want it more than any average person. This does not amount to all the other great things in this book, these just popped out more for me.

I gave CJ a simple interview on his book. Below I asked a few questions that may be helpful to you all, while learning a bit behind the man with the wonderful mind.

Wendy: What got this book started?
CJ: The spirits; seeing people I know with talent go to jail; running in the streets when young; spirits told me to move the culture
Wendy: What kept you going besides remembering why you started?
CJ: confidence and self worth; believe that you can achieve something; changing perspective.
Wendy: Top 3 highlights since you released your book?
CJ: Someone praying over me and giving me their blessings have not seen them 10-15 years, 13 year old boy made a video elaborating on "If you can't build with em' stop chilling with em', Parent asked me to go to their living room to talk to their kids.
Wendy: Whats Next?
CJ: Generate awareness; I do not fear messing up I do not fear failure I fear not trying.
I want to thank CJ again for motivating. For sticking through with this great accomplishment. You have already instilled things in my head that I will pass on and use for a lifetime. You are going to continue to grow and change lives everyday. Remain a man of faith, stay productive, stay hungry, and live life. It was an absoulte pleasure to be the first one to hear in depth about your story. Xo Remember to always Love and allow to be loved.
