Wildlife Survival Sanctuary
/This week I had one of the most amazing adventures ever. I had the breathtaking pleasure of seeing exotic animals closer than ever before. Animals are a gift from God, even though they do belong in the wild, I was blessed enough to see them in good homes and up close.
Only other place you can see these beautiful creatures would be behind the thickest of glass in a zoo, unless you have the privilege of going on a real safari someday. Our tour guide was polite and informative, her name was Clara, she came all the way from Belgium just to volunteer and help the animals. I had found this place through a Groupon which charged me $12 for two people. In all honestly this is a free tour, but donations are welcomed.
This Sanctuary is a nonprofit facility so they feed and keep the animals healthy and safe out of their own pockets, and from the donations people give them. The animals here eat well, play all the time, and enjoy the space they are in everyday. Many of the animals were rescued into their new homes. You walk around for about an hour and a half, enjoying facts on the animals, their history and how they act day to day. It was amazing to see these animals happy, and to hear what their lives were like before the sanctuary. It was amazing to make eye contact with them, and see how they responded when you called them by their name. This adventure is enjoyable for people of all ages. If you love outdoors, country side, and beautiful animals, this is the place to slide into.
Before heading to them you will need to make an appointment beforehand. (all the information at the bottom) Like I said the tour is free in general, but donations are greatly needed and appreciated.
They have an upcoming Christmas event to get the animals things for the holidays, and to have a little cook out for the guests. December 5th, 2015 from 10am-2pm. Children that attend will receive a free toy, and you get the pleasure of seeing the animals open up their own Christmas gifts too. Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be sold at the event. Somethings that you are able to donate are Publix, Lowes, and Walmart gift cards. Medium and Large latex gloves, paper towels, white heavy duty tall kitchen bags, zip lock bags, wild bird seeds, Clorox bleach, vinegar, produce (veggies, fruits) crepe paper, nontoxic paint.
