Chef Eddie's Soul Touching Food

Soul food is known to be a comfort food. The type of food you eat when you are in a great mood, or need to get in a great mood. Soul food originated in the South, but now it can be found nationwide. I had the pleasure to pop into Chef Eddie's Restaurant and enjoy every bite of food I had in my mouth. I even had the honor to speak to the Chef and CEO of the company himself.

I was blessed enough to interact with Mr. Eddie himself and ask him a few questions. He established his business back in April of 2010. He was a Chef in Charlies Steak House when he got laid off, he took the idea to his wife of opening their own restaurant. From then on it was all prayer and hard work to build his delicious and successful business.

Now to the tasty treats, I enjoyed their refreshing mix of iced tea and lemonade, also known as a Tiger Woods at this eatery. I loved the remix of the name and how it was all homemade. To start off I had some warm and fluffy jalapeño muffins, on the side was a smooth pineapple butter. It was such a nice mix and very light. Neither of the flavors were overbearing, but just right to enjoy before your meal. Also dug into a couple of coconut shrimps. They were cooked just right, and a great amount of coconut shavings, the dipping sauce was a wonderful homemade Chipotle sauce that kid you not, you can pretty much dip in anything edible. Chef Eddie himself wanted me to have some fried green tomatoes and crab cakes. This was all over some succulent Parmesan grits and gravy. The fried green tomatoes were juicy and flavorful with every bite. The crab cakes were put together just right, as soon as it went in your mouth it falls apart to explode sea greatness. I personally have tried grits from everywhere and I dislike them, but for the first time EVER I loved the grits that were given to me. Mixed with the gravy and the crab cake was too good to stop eating.

Another item Mr. Eddie led me to tasting were the pork ribs. They were so fulfilling. The barbecue sauce was so tangy with just the right amount of spices. Chef uses peppers and different types of dried seasonings to give his special sauce that needed kick. I grabbed the apple cinnamon waffles and chicken. The waffles had a nice settled flavor of cinnamon while the browned sauteed apples fell right on top. The chicken was fried perfectly and the inside was juicy and well cooked. First time I tried the chicken and waffles meal, I see why this restaurant is so famous for them. Also ate the brisket meal with mash potatoes, sweet potato casserole and macaroni and cheese. The brisket was so tender and mouth watering good. Man the way it mixed so well with the soft and hard pieces of the mash, just let me know how fresh they were. The sweet potato casserole was was smooth, and the marshmallow top was a great consistency to it. The mac and cheese was so creamy it was the right mix to the rest of the plate.

To top it all off I grabbed the homemade sweet potato pie. It was the best way to end the whole meal. Very well put together and the crust was so fresh too.

The company has catering options, no party is too small nor too big to assist in . They also have breakfast served from 8am-3pm they have breakfast specials. And from 11am-3pm lunch specials are available all under $7. Another cool thing offered is the Friday night Jazz nights. They have a live band playing lovely Jazz music from 8pm-11pm. Great date night, or just some solo time to have a great meal, and feel good vibes.

I want to thank Luis our waiter for all the assistance and great advice. Also want to give an even bigger thank you to Chef Eddie for giving me some of his precious time and they great hospitality. Hope this business will continue to grow and he continues to receive all the blessings that are for him. I had a great dinner and all for amazing prices. Any questions head over to my contact page, or reach out to the restaurant themselves. Remember to always "Love and allow to be loved." xoxo
