Blu Cantina

Atlanta is such a versatile city. I found a dope "Latin American Fusion" spot by the name of Blu Cantina, I feel everyone should visit them. From the outside of the restaurant you see the lively art on the building's walls. The vibe inside is mixed with a DJ booth, some space, a bar, and booths with a few tables inside and out. The food is great and they have a sweet variety and great prices. Music may make you change from a light bounce in your seat to a sweet stand up twerk... balance.

My go to drink at Blu Cantina every single time will be the Henessey Margarita. Now I know that Margarita is associated with tequila, but this cognac in there will give you a new outlook. Ask your server about a pitcher if you are 21.

I went to Blu Cantina a few times while in Atlanta this last trip. My official introduction was with Kirstie and we had a nice array of delicious finger food. We started off with the ultimate sampler. You can always mix up the options, but we chose some golden chicken empanadas with a light chipolte kick drizzled over top, the veggie filled southwest egg rolls and the queso to dip it all in.

Next were the flavorful variety in tacos that we had. We had a tender brisket taco, I had a fried fish taco with some nice hints of mango in it, a grilled shrimp taco that also has some great mango slaw, Kirstie had a surf and turf taco which has brisket and shrimp in it. All of these we ate with rice and beans. I also went back a couple other times, added wings, fries and other things I stated above. All of it was so filling and flavorful.

And of course I had a few churros after dinner because a meal is not complete if desert is not present.

MAKE SURE YA'LL FOLLOW THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO FIND OUT ALL THEIR NIGHTLY DEALS IG: @BluCantina_eav

I appreciate everyone that catered to me and my friends in Blu Cantina. My sister and favorite server Diamond works here and she is a gem to say the least. Everyone here from the boss Gally (G) to the cooks are all welcoming and on point. I can always appreciate black owned businesses flourishing. Hope this establishment continues to grow and kick ass everyday. As I finish typing this I wish I was able to down a Hennessy Margarita and a chicken empanada, just a quick pick me up snack is all. I hope you all enjoy this chilled restaurant lounge next time you're in the A. I am glad to be back in the writing wave, I appriciate ya'll continued support and patience. Remember to always Love and Allow to be Loved xo  Tell them Ms. Mars sent you!

Happy Lou Smoke Shop

Fresh to the area, I have been trying to make my way around mom and pop establishments. While in Pompano Beach, I so happen to come across a new smoke shop called Happy Lou's

I loved the hospitality as soon as we arrived, Lou greeted us himself. He was knowledgeable about all his products and even let us see some outside the case. It is a family owned business that's been opened about 6 months now. I have faith that their business will only grow if they continue to give it TLC (tender love and care).

It is very close to the beach, walking distance actually. They have a good variety of glass work, hookahs, pipes, filters, incense, cigars, papers, vapes, cleaners. It is a little for everyone. Even if you are trying to quit smoking, they have oils for vapes in all flavors to help you ease off those killer ciggs. But for my folks that aren't going to stop smoking anytime soon; Lou also offers a relaxed back area to enjoy a sweet cigar, purchased on location for your convenience. They have snacks and drinks on location too... in case you get tobacco munchies of course. Everything is priced very fair. I grabbed 10 incense for only $2 and the holder for $7. Under $10 and my rooms smell a different scent every couple of days.

With my purchase, a review and a follow I was given a FREE GIFT!! Ya'll know I find free and inexpensive things for you guys. Make a purchase, support a local business, and get something free from it. Not only that, they are more likely to remember you, and treat you like family. Big shops don't usually care who you are, they just care for your money. At Happy Lou's small talk is made, questions are asked, and see you laters are meant. Down below are all the goodies I got from Happy Lou's.

I truly hope ya'll can make it out to this smoke shop. I have some friends in town this week that I may take to enjoy some goodies too. Happy smokers on a budget? #HappyLous is the place to go for all your needs. Make sure you let him know #MsMars sent you too. May you all continue to be great and positive in everything that you do. Remember to always love and allow to be loved. xoxo

Hard Work, Sweat and Progression

My beautiful and amazing supporters! I needed a mental break from blogging and media working. I am coming back for you all, stronger and with brighter ideas. I am so excited for you all to continue my journey with me. To more adventures, more risks, and much more success!

So to kick off this update of mine! Working out for me is like a regular thing now. Still working on super healthy eating, but I am about 73% there. I am slimmer, skin is getting better slowly, my mind even feels healthier. Butt is getting bigger and gut is getting smaller. I took meat out for the month of January with the exception of sea food 1-2 a week. I am feeling great; I do miss meat, but I do have more energy. I am entering my last semester at Valencia College tomorrow. I am only taking one class, and will graduate in May. I have been in and out of school for over 5 years and even changed my major at one point. I am just happy to soon be finished with one obstacle, and on to the next. I applied for a University in Florida to continue my education. God willing to begin this summer with a couple of online classes.

Next is work, I am still on the hunt for someone who can offer flexibility with my school and travel, understands that I am a starving artist; but of course still be a well paying job for a hard worker like myself. I know to some it seems unattainable, but I know for a fact that they are out here. I refuse to overwork in something I am not passionate about for under $10. I prefer to have a company behind me that believes in me, and maybe even allow me to partner up with them afterwards. I am going to school for advertising and public relations. They can scratch my back now, and I may be able to scratch there's even better later.

Another thing I am in the mist of doing, is moving. I applied for a school as I said up top. I will give you a hint, it is NOT in Orlando. So I will have to leave the nest soon to continue my education and branding of myself. I have a few interviews lined up so keep those fingers crossed. A good paying job, and a few projects I have lined up will get my pockets a little oomph. The next 7-8 months will be a magnitude of money saving. I literally have a piggy bank, for all my change too. No penny will be wasted in the saving for this move.

Lastly I am proud to announce that I will soon have merchandise available for Wendolyn Mars. I will be honest with you all, my supporters. Personally I am going into this with a pen, pad and lots of faith. I am learning as I go, and using my past experiences with a great team around me to guide me. Stay tune to all my social media networks, as I will be trying to post more and interact more with you all. I want to able to blog more without the pressure of doing it every Sunday. So the days may jump around when publishing an entry. I want to thank you all for showing me extra love always. I am still looking for extra feedback on everything that I do. This is all for you guys, to make life easier on you all, so you can relate and save money all at once. Below I have a rough draft of something I may soon be putting out. Let me know if it is something that you all would enjoy to wear. Thank you all.

To my day 1 and my new supporters. I live by my quote "Love and allow to be loved". This is for everything around you. Your mind, your body, your job, your family, your higher power. If you love it, show it that, allow it to love you back. Nothing but greatness can result from love being spewed from both sides. Xo

Free Holiday Activities

Happy Holidays to you all. I am big on this time of year, there is so much extra love in the air. I am having my God children visit me this year, totally over the moon about it. Hopefully I will be able to share some pictures on here of my adventures with them, if not check out @W3ndy1321 (Instagram) for updates. I know that this time of year can be a little rough on the pockets. But we still all want to have fun, save money and be in the spirit. Below are a few activities that are family friendly for the next couple of weeks.

I love myself a nice outside movie. Lake Eola is offering a couple of movies to enjoy for FREE. Get a warm sweater, some snacks, few thick blankets, a sweet date or your kids, and make it a cozy movie night. They do have food trucks around if you get hungry, or run out of snacks. I am a total budget Betty, so I will bring my own snacks usually. The movies all start at 7pm. My best advice is get there early guys, find free parking and good seats. First they are offering on December 16th, 2016 to watch "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" by Dr. Seuss. Following, they are offering on December 23rd, 2016 "A Christmas Story". Both of these movies are total classics, they are a great date night, solo night, or family night; I will let you guys choose, I say do both.

Next is more for my theater lovers. The timeless play "The Nutcracker" will be showing in the Walk Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola on December 17th, 2016 at 730pm. This is also a FREE event. Just like the movies though, make sure to get there with time. You do not want to be the person all the way in the back, that can't see anything. Remember to bring something to stay warm in.

First off I want to apologize to you guys for some delays on my entries on here. It has been finals week, and I graduate in the Spring. I have just been trying to find balance with everything around while still making school my number one priority. Now that school is over this Thursday, I hope to have a lot of material backed up to give you all the consistency back. I hope you all have an amazing holiday! Keep in contact if you need any help with getting around to these dope places. Appreciate you all supporting me in what I do, you all motivate me to keep striving when I read your kind words. Love you all to the moon and back. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xoxo

Pinchos Factory

I enjoy to have my full blown cheat meal once a week. Going steady on sticking to healthier eating habits, but know I still have work that needs to be done. I went with one of my best friends, Laura to grab a bite to eat and catch up.

We went and visited Pinchos Factory, I loved this place as soon as I walked in. The total vibes were giving me eco-friendly and homey. The seating is pretty well spaced out which helps if you go to eat alone, or 6 other people. The best service we had was from a young woman named Brooklynn. She was so amicable, respectful and attentive. I noticed her as she attended to other customers and it was the same for everyone. Loved the energy she gave us, wish her nothing but love and light. They have a selection of wines and beers to enjoy with your meals. Their meat is 100% humanely raised, anti-biotic and hormone free too.

Laura grabbed a rice and chicken bowl, chipotle style. I am a big baby for anything spicy, so I just took her word on it being hot. She had rice, chicken, jalapeno, pico de gallo, homemade chipotle mayo and she got a side of cilantro sauce. She said that the side of sauce helped subside the intense spices. It was a great portion size as well, she felt full, but not bloated. If you like you food with a kick, this may be it. $8-$9

I of course, grabbed something a little out of the ordinary. Mine was called a toston burger. They use tostones which are fried plantains, as buns. Inside it came with jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and their homemade cilantro sauce. The first bite was filled with great flavors. Tasted like something that we should all have at our barbecues. I also grabbed a side of sweet potato tots, with a kick ass apple butter dip. $8.49 $4.49 All their burgers are cooked at medium well, my favorite. I was fond of them being 100% fresh and natural. Also they won the 2015 Burger Bash Champion. If you're winning awards, then it definitely has to account for something.

Overall this is a great place to enjoy with family, some takeout or even a solo date. They have 7 locations and seem to continue to be growing. I can not wait to hear the feedback you guys have for this place. Hope to see some pictures of your tasty meals. Thank you all for the ongoing support you give me. Excuse my absence last week. Been hectic with graduation around the corner. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xoxo

Look Who's Fit

Hey everyone, I have been on this healthier journey for a few months now. I workout at least 5 times a week, with a 1-2 mile runs each workout. Sometimes all I actually do is run. I am always looking how to switch up my workout as I have shown you all before. I decided to head back to my trainer Bert, you will too.

I met Bert a few years ago. Started as a trainer, and evolved into a friend. He has always been extremely motivational, professional, and respectful. He graduated with a B.A in sports and exercise science. He does training for both youth and adults. Works on weight loss, muscle gain, even trains athletes too. You tell him exactly what body type you are aiming for, and he will get you there. He has his own brand "Look Who's Fit" with lots of merchandise too. You will wear it proudly out and about, great quality and message. Bert always pushes you extra just when you think you are going to cave in. He always wants it badly for you, but you have to want it just as bad to see the true results.

It is always fun to head to his Saturday boot camps at Blue Jacket Park. The space is huge, and refreshing. These workouts are total judge free zones, everyone is amicable and welcoming. This past Saturday I began with a nice half a mile jog around the park. Went into cardio drills as soon as I went in. He incorporates a couple of different sports too. I did a little soccer and even some football. The drills are meant to work your full body out. The weather is getting very cool, so that helps with the sweat and cooling down process. Bert always has a full cooler of chilled water waiting as a reward. He even plays music outside to get us nice and hype. This awesome boot camp is only $10. You all know I am a total budget Betty. This is the place to be at on weekends for a great price, and even better results. He even has a partner there to assist him. Rafael, his partner also speaks Spanish for those wanting to bring bilingual friends out.

Bert does not stop there he also does private training. I will have all his information down below. He will be able to give you a little more 1 on 1 time. This may be a little pricey for some, but for others its the perfect balance. If you do not know how to workout in the gym, or what to eat, Bert will guide you. Thing is you will have to pay it now to be healthier, or pay it later in life if you end up in bad health. He will teach you the right way to use different machines and even your own body weight. He also does meal preps for his clients, or meal plans if you want to cook it yourself. He is always going over and beyond to make you feel better about not only your body, but the inside too.

I want to thank Bert for always welcoming me back into his workouts with open arms. To see him continue to evolve to this awesome trainer is amazing. You will not regret going to him. If you have followed me on social media for a few years, you have seen me workout with him before. Best shape I was in before is all thanks to this man, and the pushing he did. Thank you all for continuing to support me in everything. You all are the real MVPs! All feedback is always welcomed please. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xo PS: I will have a video up on my IG this week, of my workout. @W3ndy1321

Gaming and Booze

I am always on the lookout for the next dope place that is pocket friendly. More than that, I just love to get people out of their house. Now a lot of people think video game players are just always home, on a couch with snacks everywhere. But I found a place that is a little different.

I found a game lovers paradise! Beers, different game consuls, and old school arcade machines. Right when I went in, I saw so many old arcade games from when I was growing up. The entry into Player One Arcade Bar was $5. This allows you to play all the games for free. I went to the bar, started with a Sake sort of shot, that they mix with a red juice. Good starting kick to the night. Next I had a beer called purple haze, to me it was smooth and flavorful. It had a hint of raspberry which gave it a nice sweet twist. The beer was $5. Mostly all the beers are very inexpensive and they have a wild variety. No liquor, close to it are the Sake shots, which were also $5. They even have small sample cups if you want to try the beer before you choose. I enjoyed my sweet bartender, her name was Tara. She was so helpful with everything I needed. Service was awesome. I played things like Pac Man, Super Nintendo, shooting games, I even got to enjoy a game of duck hunt. The bigger game consuls you need to have a tab open to rent out, so worth it. Get a dope group of 4 and get your game on.

The variety of games that they have is what caught my attention. So many old school games, combined with set ups of new generation games. It is awesome because it is for all ages, from open to 6pm all ages are welcomed. After 6pm it is only 21+. I can appreciate a company that allows adults to get their game on too. I loved the diversity in the place too, people from all over just there for the same things, a cold one and dope games.

They also have man crush Mondays, which allows men to have discounted entry, and specials on drinks. Same thing for my ladies, you get to enjoy discounted entry and drink specials but on Wednesday's. I love that they have a men and ladies night, that alone shows the dope equality for us all.

This is such a cool place to just grab a few friends and do something different and inexpensive. Same for even people who are total gamers, change your environment and kick some ass in public. People will swarm you and call you the gaming boss! It is very easy to get here, easy to rent out games, and even easier to just have a great time gaming.

I hope this entry was informative for you all. When you get a chance I hope you will slide by Player 1 to grab some beers, and bust some butt in a swift game of Mario Karts. Thank you all for the ongoing support and love I receive. Make sure to always get out of the house, have a great time and save money while doing so. Remember my motto, Love and allow to be loved. Xo

Hot Momma, Bahamas

Who can't appreciate a sweet getaway to a Caribbean island? I know I can, and that I did. Last weekend was one of my best friend Buse's birthdays. She wanted to celebrate with sand between her toes, and a golden tan to come back and show off. Her, her boyfriend Kash and myself took a 3 night cruise out to the Bahamas. I will go more into detail about the cruise next Sunday. This entry I will talk on the couple of places we visited while in Nassau, Bahamas.

First stop was a fish fry. It was such a funny story behind it. I made sure to ask all the locals where the best type of food was, what did they eat on lunch breaks? So everyone was saying "fish fry" I automatically thought this meant this was the actual name of the establishment. Turns out that was a whole area of different eateries. Luckily we had a great taxi driver that dropped us off in the best one in Arawak Cay. This spot was called Fish Central, had the pleasure of meeting the owner Dave. They had been opened only 9 months and a day when I went, and I see nothing but success for this business now, and in the future. Great hospitality, fast service, and nice prices. Can't ever go wrong with that triple combo. We grabbed some fried shrimp that was so nice and juicy. They had a perfect chili sauce for dipping them in. It was such a nice balance to have the crunch and tenderness of the shrimp with the tangy spice of the dip, it is a must grab for a starter $9. Buse enjoyed some fish fingers $8, simple lunch but clean nonetheless. The oil they use is so clean and perfect, every fried meal was so delicious and did not feel totally unhealthy. I grabbed the best fish sandwich I have ever had. Came with a batch of fries and some great dips to dabble in $10. It was in a light batter, so you can still fully taste and see the fish, it was just again fried to perfection. Kash had the big man plate, a cracked lobster snack $18. Now just the picture alone lets you see how amazing it must of tasted. The lobster was extra meaty and clean. You could taste the freshness without feeling like you drank a gallon of beach water. This whole establishment was great, I advice to sit upstairs it is way cooler and you have a beautiful view. This eatery is near it all, shopping, beaches, bars. Free wifi, food and drinks can't ever go wrong. Let them know the Blogger from Orlando sent you, and enjoy.

Next pull up, you know I had to grab a brew from the Island. I did not want the typical beer that comes in a bottle. Instead we found this dope crafts beer bar near our dock. This place was called Pirate Republic. They make beer right on the Island. They hold these dope beer pong offs on Fridays. They always have the tables out though, if you are ever in the mood for some friendly competition, loser buys the beers. I had a sweet brew for about $7 and a cigar from up the street. Started downstairs and worked our way to the top. They have a very nice view, and some unique art work on the walls, extra detailed too. They are always holding different types of events all the time. If you know you will visit look for their Instagram to see what events will be on when you go. I want to thank this place for the hospitality as well. I feel so bad for not remembering the name of the gentleman that assisted me. He is in the picture below, just know he is the BEST.

I had such a great time on the Island, can't wait to go back sometime. The people were just so beautiful, helpful and happy. Was so nice to be around such good energy on such a breath taking trip. Want to thank both businesses and the locals I met around the way for all the awesome hospitality. Next week I will let you all into my cruise, what I did on it, and how to book one for a great price. Thank you all for the continued support and love, remember to always "Love and allow to be loved". Xo

Jack and Mary's

With this cloud over my city, I tried to bring an old school spot to my blog. Jack and Mary's has been around for years. Anyone who lives in East Orlando has ate here at least one, if not for sure know where it is. This a super mom and pops diner. They are the ones to close at about 2:30pm and reopen at 5:30am.

To me the service was fast and great. Had a sweet bilingual woman who was on it. She was a one woMAN show for real. She was getting everything on point from drink and food orders to cashing people out and asking people how their kids are. The food comes out fairly fast too which I love because I had class that morning. I had the meat lovers omelet, it had sausage, ham and bacon, real cheesy too with home fries, and a biscuit. I love the food here because it is from scratch. What you would eat at home, you get made here for a low price. My plate was $9.95 and that is because I was extra hungry. Their breakfast/lunch specials range from $4.95-$7.00 plates. The most expensive thing on the menu is the Greek omelet $11.95 because it has Lamb in it.

This is a great place to go to for a quick morning/brunch meal. They have a great variety of different meals and everything is fresh. I can not wait to continue to go to Jack and Mary's for a nice meal and not hurt my pockets afterwards. Hope you all make it out and continue to show support for beautiful Orlando. We need all the prayers and love we can get from everyone. I appreciate all the ongoing love from you all. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xo

Jimmy Hulas

Food with lots of flavor is where it's at. I am not one to eat some plain a** food. So I want to always try new places, with different type of flavors. My friend Charles, from UCF put me onto this place. The owner is someone who travels all around the world and takes foods from all over, and brings them back to the states. Enjoy my Jimmy Hulas experience, and see what it is that you want next time you're there.

I went out here with my dad Rafael, and little sister Rakel. We started off with the Cabo trio. This consisted of a lot of tortilla chips and three dips, queso, guac and salsa. $4.59 My little sister had the Crack'd corn. This was corn on the cob with crema, chili powder, cotija (cheese) and cilantro. $3.29 Not spicy, extra creamy and boiled to perfection corn. Rakel ate on the light side, grabbing a filling Caesar salad. You can choose to have your chicken fried or grilled. $6.29

My taco loving self, of course I went taco crazy. I grabbed the Wipe-out taco. In it they had steak, shrimp, and fries. Inside came jack cheese, salsa, avocado, and baja sauce. $4.25 I also grabbed a Street taco, this can be done with beef, chicken, steak and pork. I chose the chicken one with onions on the side (yuck) cojita, and sirracha one the side. $3.59 My OG (Dad) grabbed a juicy burger called the Aloha Burger. This had Teriyaki, pineapple, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and creamy Teri. $7.35 I took a bite of it, it was super BBQ style meat with juicy meat all around. I enjoyed how much tenderness and flavor it had to offer.

One thing I also loved were the drink specials, they are all below in the last picture. They had amazing drink specials all week long. Week days 4pm-7pm they had their happy hour. Then on Weekends they had the happy hour all day long. Some of the drinks are down below. The main weekends one were $3 Mimosas, $3 Screwdrivers, and $3 bloody Marys/Marias.

Batter Up

I have posted a couple of ways to stay active, save money, and still have a great time. This time around I went to the batting cages. Being that I am Dominican, I figured I have to be able to hit the ball at least one good time. And worse comes to worse, I still get a huge laugh, and full blown arm and back workout out of it.

I went into these batting cages by where I live (information at the bottom) recently. They offer golf there too. They actually have discounts for veterans, law enforcement, and fire fighters. I am not much of a golfer, but I still grabbed some information on it. The people who can get discounts on the balls, the small basket is 50 cents off, medium is one dollar, and the big one is two dollars off.

I have a picture of the regular prices below. You go to this place with $6-$10, and the whole family can have a great time. I go for a mini workout. After a while I start to think I am really a baseball player. They have different types of levels of speed, as well as softball and baseball options on the balls and pitches. This is always fun to me because I like to switch up my workouts and have a good time doing so. Great laughs with my amazing friend Linda, who snapped some flicks of me. She actually told me "you're actually not that bad" which is dope from her, since she is so athletic. But like everything else, practice makes perfect so I will be heading back soon.

If you all need any questions answered, please do not hesitate. Either contact me through the comments, or hit my 'contact" tab to find the easiest way for you to get a hold of me. I want to fill my new followers into why I write my blog. I want to get people out of their house, and into fun food and activities that are pocket friendly. I hope to make new memories that people will cherish, and allow to build happiness in their souls. Thank you all for the endless support towards what I do. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xoxo

Adios Miami

Second entry of my mini getaway to Miami. These were little pull in places I headed to. Hope you all enjoy these places and have the pleasure of visiting soon.

First was a simple dimple ice cream parlor, Serendipity. Located in the art district of Miami, Wynwood. This is a low key shop, few different flavors, but they are all legit amazing. After every sample spoon I just wanted another scoop of that added to my cup. I ended up choosing the salted caramel, awesome light mix of sweet and salty.

Next spot I pulled into was a place that sold different things, almost like a pop up shop. This place had plants, glasses, jewelry, clothes, even paintings and energy infused jewels. They even had a palm reader there to tell you your future, if you believe in things of that nature. This was right near Coyo's Tacos in the art district as well. Even if you do not buy anything, enjoy the different handmade art around.

On the last day of my trip, I had to have a Cuban sandwich before heading back home. My great friend Caddy took me to a real cozy Spanish restaurant. The name was Enriqueta's Cafe. This was a very laid back, and amicable place to grab a bite to eat. I grabbed the Cuban sandwich with cafe con leche (coffee and milk). It was so filling, and rewarding. The cheese melting from it after every bite, even the light crunch of the pickles was too amazing. I can not wait to go back and try it again.

Gracias Miami, and thank you to all of you who support me. Nothing but love pours from my heart when I think of all the nice things you all write me, or how amazing it is to know that you all have been, or want to go somewhere I went to. You all are loved deeply by me. Thank you all. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xoxo

We Meet Again Miami

Second time around I welcome the end of a semester with Miami. Can't ever complain about beautiful people, tasty food, great vibes, and beaches. This post is just a couple of places I pulled into while on my small getaway.

I drove down with my great friend Buse early Friday morning. We got here to Miami, went around the city a bit then hit Hollywood beach where parking is about $8 for a few hours. There we had a couple of drinks at Margaitaville about $8-$9, which was right next to a little surf activity. Great weather and entertainment was available. Next that night I went to a club called Brick House. Great music choice, and nice space too. The weather was perfect to hang outside and enjoy some dancing and drinks.

Next day my two girlfriends and I headed to the nude beach called Haulover. Only $7 for all day parking. There we grabbed some sun and enjoyed the cool water. Now this is not somewhere I would say to take your kids, but you will have a great time with your lover, adult friends, or even alone. They have smoothie trucks, and also a couple of different stores on the outskirts. When going to a nude beach I always tell people to not feel nervous, everyone has their flaws, we are not perfect. We are all there trying to feel liberated and enjoy some sun. For lunch we grabbed the best chicken sandwich I have enjoyed in a long time. We went to The Bar Next Door which is partnered up with Wood Tavern in Wynwood. These are all places in Miami's art district (check out my last Miami blog). Anyway back to the bomb chicken sandwich it was fried chicken, but not super greasy. It had lettuce and cucumbers too. They add this jalapeno sauce that is so nicely balanced by the cool veggies in the sandwich. Grab some cheese fries and down it with a nice cold beer. That night I headed back to Wood Tavern which is always free entry and drink specials all night. I started my night of partying. Big outdoors section was my favorite. Its like total timeless house party vibe, I was loving the music by @DjYnot. He played sick mixes of everything, you have to appreciate a DJ that has smooth transitions between songs.

Stay tuned to read where else I enjoyed next Sunday. I want to thank you all for the ongoing support towards what I do. Feel free to contact me if you are wanting more details on these places, or simply have questions. Remember to always love and allow to be Loved. Xoxo

Chocolate Lovers

As I have said before, I am a sweets lover. I enjoy anything candy, cake, chocolate and whatever is in between. I decided to put ya'll onto something sweet, cheap, family friendly and educational. I will be keeping this entry pretty short, because it is best to just go to the place and experience it yourselves.

I took my god brother out with me to this outing. I don't see his as often as I would like with my hectic schedule, so I wanted to take him somewhere I know every kid would enjoy. This is a Chocolate museum, not a factory. From what I was told by the tour guide, they may be converting it into a factory this summer (do not quote me). The tours run about every 30 minutes and they last about an hour long. The cost at the location is about $16 per person, but ya'll know I am a budget Betty so I grabbed a Groupon for only $10 for each of us, plus we pay the tax when we get there which was $1.30 so $21.30 for two through Groupon.

So we got there a little early so I could take some pictures in the front and ask some questions. I enjoyed a passion fruit mimosa with sorbet in the inside. it was great, I recommend it to anyone who likes a baby buzz on at noon, it was $7. The tour is so informative it takes you through the history of chocolate, the growth of it, how it has traveled and evolved. It is so interesting to see how much work goes into that chocolate bar that you indulge in. In the museum there are many different sculptures, all made up of real chocolate in a climate controlled room. I did not take a picture of them all, just so you guys can have some surprise when you visit. You get to see machines that were first used to make the chocolate, what gets it from the beans, to the liquid form, to the solid form. Then comes my favorite part, the tasting of the different chocolates they have to offer. From milk chocolate, to white chocolate (which technically isn't even chocolate) to dark chocolate with 77% cacao beans. The tour ends with showing you all types of chocolate wrappers from different countries. If you travel you can pick out a few bars that you tasted. They have a variety of cakes, and chocolate goodies in the store to enjoy from. The three chocolate bars I have a picture of down below were my favorites.

Hope ya'll enjoyed this quick overview of the Chocolate Museum and that you will head out there soon. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I love to know how I can make your outing a little easier. Also when you all go to the places I blog on, I would love a message, or just a picture of it sent to me. I love you all, and appreciate all the ongoing support. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xo

Let's Keep Saving In Toronto

This entry is a continuum of my trip to the beautiful Toronto. As many of you know already, I am mostly a loner traveler. I am always open to make new friends on my trips. I hope you all make a trip alone to a new place someday. Comfort is always the enemy, and keeping things too alike may hold you back from bigger and better opportunities. Hope you enjoy these next few stops I made, and be on the look out for one more Toronto entry next Sunday.

First place I went into was called "Starving Artist". Considering I am an artist in the writing world, I felt it right to enjoy a meal with such a dope name. This place is every waffle lovers dream. 99% of the food items on the menu, get waffles incorporated into them. I myself started off with a fruit smoothie of mangos, strawberries, and bananas. In the smoothie they use a type of yogurt, ice and juice. It was super warm inside, so I wanted something sweet and refreshing.  Also I enjoyed a fruit bowl, great variety of fruits as well. As for my meal, my taste buds went on a fishy and smooth ride. I enjoyed the egg benedict with salmon, side of baked beans, and some  greens did me well too. As you can see I left my business card on their bulletin board. Someone will grab it. The prices were great, and the food was awesome. The service from everyone was rewarding, very attentive and helpful as well.

I went to the equivalent of New York's Times Square in Toronto. This is known as Yonge Dundas Square. Fun fact, Yonge St. is the longest street in the world, stretching 1,178 miles long. It is a great place for pictures, to walk around at, and even do some retail therapy as well. I was pretty excited to know Canada had Popeyes too, everybody loves fried chicken and biscuits. I walked into a random bar called "Imperial Pub". Such a welcoming staff, and good vibes as soon as you go in. The bar is a family owned business that has been around for 72 years. In the old times, to have a liquor licence you had to have rooms upstairs for hotel stays. Enjoyed a couple cups of Moosehead Larger, Canadian beer, all for about $8-$9. Live jazz band every Friday as well. This is a cool trip for younger adults, the drinking age in Canada is 19, so take an Uber, and get your drink on.

El Furniture is a super laid back and inexpensive stop as well. This is like a college bar, with tasty food, and great music. Live DJ's spinning while you dance, drink and eat. As you can tell from the girls dancing on the bar, the music selection was too legit. My friend Femi put me on to this place and it was perfect. I chose some lemon pepper wings, and he soft chicken tacos. The best part of this place, is ALL food is only $4.95 all the time. For sure recommend this place for a pregame or even just to chill for the night.

Thank you all for the continued support with everything that I do. As I said up top, I will have another blog entry from Toronto next week as well. Feel free to contact me with any questions, or just to say hi. I may not reply right away, but I love all my supporters. Just know you WILL get a reply from me within 24 hours. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xo

First Timer in The Six

This an overview of my first couple of days in the beautiful Toronto. I just love the city, the people, the food. Everything from the polite and helpful locals, to the "eh's" were lovely.

First stop I made was to Miss Natalie's. Great Caribbean food, amazing service. You all know I am a down south gal, I need my spices every now and again when I pop up in a new place. I had a beef patty which did not make it to the picture, maybe next time. Just know they were great, and he has mild and spicy ones. Also had the oxtails with rice and beans. The rice and beans were nice and fluffy not hard, not mushy, but just right. Rice was soaked in all the right amount of juices from the meat. The oxtails were tender and just the right amount of spicy. I was legit just sucking it right off the bone. You can taste every flavor pouring on out. Enjoyed every bite, and even had some for lunch the next day. They serve specials ALL DAY EVERYDAY. Picture below shows some of the specials that are around all day. I had the pleasure of sitting down for a few minutes with the owner of Miss Natalies, Robert. He is currently looking to extend his business with other foods like Asian, bar food (burgers, wings) not just your typical island food. I admire Robert for his work ethic and passion. The man owned his own business at the age of 23, engineer and chef are just a couple of his titles. I want to give a huge thank you to Robert for the awesome hospitality and wisdom. May your heart stay pure so blessings will always find their way.

Next location was Toronto Island, short ferry ride away. Now at this time of the year, it is mostly just walking around and a kick ass view of the skyline. So I went to stretch my legs and to catch some awesome pictures. It is $7.25CA to get a across, and they have different restaurants, shops and even have concerts on warmer days. There are multiple islands that are connected, but I went to one only, Ward's Island. They had the cutest houses, best view of the whole city and a nice peaceful trails. When traveling you have to know that sometimes, a nice calm, place to be at is needed. Because I am traveling alone, I needed to put my self timer to take pictures of myself. LOL If you are going to Toronto in warmer weather, you have to stop by here to enjoy the island people and what they have to offer.

Aviv

This was a dope Mediterranean restaurant with great service, prices and food. I went with my friend Nick whom I met in Toronto, he had been coming to eat there for a few years. Owner Robert Chee welcomed us with open arms, our waitress Marissa was so attentive and sweet. You all know I am huge on customer service, I loved it. Nick enjoyed their curry vegetable soup. He said it has a nice mild kick to it, not too crazy and perfect for a chilly day. I ordered their Warm Hero Pressed Sandwich. It was prosciutto, salami, roasted red bell peppers, mozzarella, lettuce and tomatoes, all in between a lightly toasted house made baguette. Of course paired with one of my favorites, sweet potato fries. Color may be a little different, but it is only because these are REAL sweet potatoes. Nice smooth inside, rich sweet taste. I wanted a whole other batch. Great pizza menu also, all different kinds. They have brunch specials all weekend 11am-3pm. Everything on the menu is very inexpensive, and the food and service are awesome. They do also have an outside section to enjoy and a full bar if you want to throw back a couple.

This was my first time in Canada, and also my first time out of the country alone. I have met some amazing, successful and good spirited people. I recommend whether it be alone, or with others a trip to Toronto. They host great music festivals. lots of parties in the warmer days, and great food year around. My birthday is today, and I took this trip not only for material for you all, but also to reflect on life. If someone was to tell me I would be where I am at a year from today, I would not of believed them. I want to thank you all for the amazing support, for sticking with me every Sunday anticipating my next entry. I will work harder and smarter for my 24th year of life. Be on on the lookout for another Canada entry next week on a few other places I visited. Love you all to the moon and back. Remember to always "Love and allow to be loved". xo

Central Florida Wine Lovers

If you are new to my blog, my name is Wendolyn and I like to get you out of your house. Not only do I enjoy to get others out and about, but I like to do it so that you spend little to no money doing so. I had the pleasure of visiting Lakeridge Winery this week. For those who do not know, I am a student taking 5 courses, work a full time job, and manage to publish a blog entry once a week. Needless to say, it can get hectic on my side. Only time I was able to fit this awesome tour in was at 10:30 am. Yes, I was buzzed before noon (judge free zone). Hope you enjoy my entry, and visit them soon.

The hill tops of Clermont instantly put you at ease. All the space around, the beautiful views are just very calming. Getting away from traffic and cars, and horns once in a while is needed and appreciated. You begin the tour with a video telling you the history, and some processes that go into making the wines. You are then shown around by an awesome tour guide, mine was Stuart. Stuart showed us around, we began where the wine is stored in big stainless steel barrels. Some hold as little as 2,500 gallons of wine, others hold as much as 25,000 gallons of wine. Next you are shown outside where you get a better view of the fields and vines that are patiently waiting to grow come spring. When it is time to get the grapes off, they use a huge blue truck to shake the grapes off, it grabs about 60 tons of grapes per day. This location has 80 acres, but they have another with 120 acres, all to fulfill our wine needs. Next you are shown where the wine is packaged, and sent out to their customers. They produce about 1.5 million wine bottles per year. They can be distributed to 25 states, and you can even get them at stores near you, or get them packaged and mailed right to your front door. After you are shown around out to try their marvelous selections of wine, and bubbly. You try a total of 8 different selections, depending what season you may have one or two added. Stuart explains to you everything he pours, what it is best with and describes the wine itself. There are 5 steps to wine tasting, won't go into detail, I rather him tell you specifically. But they are see, swirl, smell, sip, and savor. This tour is completely FREE, you are not forced to purchase anything afterwards either. I did however grab a bottle of their Southern White for only $10. All of their wines are award winning, they have a nice display of all their wines, and what awards they earned. This place is awesome because they have monthly festivals too. From arts and crafts, to seafood, chocolate, jazz, grape stomping. They have it all, this also a family friendly place. Kids are even allowed on the tour, where they are given grape juice when they get to the wine tasting portion.

I hope you all enjoyed my brief overview of this amazing winery and will soon visit. If you get Stuart as your tour guide, tell him Wendolyn, the blogger sent you and he will have you cracking up the whole tour. I want to mention to you all, life is short. It is meant to be lived, to see new things, try new foods and make new memories. Do not let the thought of doing something alone, or not having enough funds stop you from having a good time. I do this blog for people like myself, people who love to go out, but unfortunately have to be on budgets. I will be rich one day, but until then, I will continue to explore and meet people down the road. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xo

Vegan Cherry Popping

I am always wanting to try new things and places. Next on the list happens to be a Vegan restaurant by the name of Etho's. A vegan is a person who does not eat any type of products made by animals. This includes cheese, milk and eggs. Now I personally do not wish to change my whole diet to this, but I did truly enjoy the food at this place. I really am looking forward to trying new things in the vegan community.

Coincidentally it was National drink wine day, so of course I had myself a little glass of white wine. Simple pinot grigio, just a sweet white wine for the night. I wanted to try something that was borderline meat so I started off with the Sausage rolls. It was a mild to spicy sausage baked into a flaky roll, and a nice Dijon sauce to dip them in. I was a little held back for the first bite for it, but it was great, very legit. The meat texture comes from fennel, and they infuse everything with eggplant, onions, and wheat. The dipping sauce was a perfect cool off for the little kick the rolls had. These will be my go to when I start my meals here.

Main course considering I have been trying to "eat better" since working out more. I went with a pecan encrusted eggplant, homemade mash potatoes and gravy with some delicious asparagus. I loved the eggplant, I am not crazy about this vegetable, so for me to find great tasting eggplant comes every 20 tastes. I was very satisfied that it was not an overbearing taste of pecans, but just the right balance for that little tingle that eggplant leaves. They through a red wine glaze on it, I really wanted to just take like a whole bottle home. It was one of those meals that you needed everything on the plate, per fork full. The mash potatos were great, the gravy had a weird texture I never had before, but it was good and I really do not even know what it was made of, who cares? lol The asparagus was like any other ones, weird smell, nice taste.

I spent on all of this and two glasses of wine $31. This is just what I wanted, but they have many specials on drinks and food. They host brunch on Sundays and have many specials then too. They have chilled music in this place, great staff and cool art all around.

Hope that this gets a new vegan out more, or an already vegan to try a new place. Either way, get out the house, have a nice meal and enjoy the people around. I went alone (like I do for most my blog entry's) and met this cool guy by the name of Vince. I spoke about what I do, and he told me about the dope music he makes. We were just conversing for a while at the bar, if I was never to see him again that would be OK because we had a cool positive conversation. So Vince, if you're reading this, keep kicking ass and being great. And to all my amazing supporters, same goes for you. Ya'll are very much appreciated. Remember to always Love and allow to be loved. Xoxo

Bikram Yoga

As I stated in my last life update blog, I've wanted to get back in shape. I have been trying to eat cleaner, along with running and recently added bikram yoga to it. Bikram yoga consists of everything regular yoga has, but in an 105 degree room. From personal experience I can tell you it helps with your respiratory system, weight loss, digestive system, better your strength and flexibility.

The studio that I go to is owned by a Dominican woman by the name of Maria, she's been open since 2009, and continues to strive. This is a clean, establishment with great hospitality. They are a total judge free zone, whether it is your first time or you 80th time doing yoga, you will be treated with respect and taught how to better your positions. They are ran by about 15 instructors that rotate different classes. They have rentals for mats and towels. They sell waters, juices and clothes too. They have showers and massage therapists as well. These are all accommodations to make you feel more comfortable and at home. The staff are all amicable and helpful with all your needs. I had the pleasure to work with Kate, she has been practicing yoga for 9 years, and teaching it for almost 5. She is very detailed in class, and will assist you with getting your posture and breathing up to par.

Your essentials to bring to class are comfortable and light clothes because I guarantee you that you will sweat. In this case I say the less clothes the better it feels. Next is your yoga mat and towel to catch your sweat drops that will make it down. Head band is more for preference, I don't personally use one. Water is one of the main things needed, I usually freeze two bottles of water, or half a gallon and it melts in there anyway. It is always respectful to wait for your few water breaks and attempt to make it through a few positions before taking your break. When you begin you stretch a few times, then lead into back stretches, use your strength, a lot of breathing exercises this will all be done in a 90 minute session. All in which will get easier as you continue to practice, go at your own pace.

To some this may be a little intense, but I do know that anyone can do this with enough practice and dedication. This is a way to relax, lose weight, and learn something new. I originally found this place on Groupon, for $8 a day. $20 for 7 days. Also for my budget lovers every first Saturday of the month it is only $5. I ended up paying $40 for a whole month, and I can go as many times as I want in 30 days. They have daily, monthly and yearly packages available. They have many hours to choose from daily to accommodate you. When you all go to the studio make sure to tell Maria that you heard about it through Wendolyn's blog. I hope some of you get to try something new and different. As for my yogi masters already, maybe this can be a new place for you to enjoy. Get out of the house, feed your body well and exercise it so it is able to last you longer. Always Love and allow to be loved, body included.

I want to thank everyone at Bikram Yoga West Orlando, you all showed me great support and love. I appreciate all your patience and hospitality towards me. Looking forward to continuing to mold my body and learn what new positions I will later perfect.

Barber Park Farmers Market

Farmers Markets are the go to for bargains, handmade or from scratch products and a great environment of amicable people along the way. Every first of the month Barber Park holds their own farmers market open to the public, they do not open for December, but they will resume this the first Sunday of January.

Like most farmers markets, they have just about everything available for sale you can think of. A lot of the eateries have samples to reel you in just a little more. They have from fatty foods, to veterinarian foods, to sweets galore. They have a lot of jewelry stands, a place where you can adopt animals, handmade candles, and honey too. All while listening to live music as you shop and mingle around.

First place I made a pick up at was a very delightful candle making business by the name of "Juliet Scents." A very lovely couple who helped me find just what I needed. I enjoy light, lavender scents and they pointed me to "calming" the perfect mix to melt in my home. Her products are all natural and dye free, also she makes them all by hand so it gives it an extra sense of warmth and love to them. She makes different salt and sugar scrubs along with oils for sensitive skin. The pampering is endless for your home, and your body. I grabbed 6 wax tarts for $7

Next pickup was a sweet treat. A gentleman named Mark, helped me taste a few dabs of honey from his "Happy Bee Honey" collection to see which would be my favorites. There were so many options, so I decided to leave with two and even that was hard. I chose the "Nutty Amaretto" and "Cinnamon" honey. Both were amazing. I actually cooked with the Cinnamon honey on Thanksgiving and my family loved the flavors I incorporated into the dish. They have so many products that they make with their amazing honey. They have body butters, walnuts and honey, cream and salt soaps, they even have raw wasabi honey. Needless to say, they can add their honey to just about anything. I paid 2 for $5 deal on the products.

I will put these couple of companies I personally enjoyed down at the bottom, that  way you all can enjoy them for yourselves. I hope to get you all out to the farmers market the first Sunday of January to mingle with other people around the city, as well as get some great food and goodies for great prices.
